Community Guidelines

Effective Date: July 12, 2026
Version 1.0
These Community Guidelines are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, warnings, temporary account suspension, or permanent account termination.

1. The Short Version

Lumiveil is a safe-for-work platform for creative writing, roleplay, and companionship with AI characters. We're here to build a kind, imaginative space where people age 16 and older can create stories together without worrying about hostility, sexual content, or exploitation.

Be kind. Keep it SFW. Respect other people's work. Take care of yourself and others.

If you're ever unsure whether something is allowed, err on the side of not doing it — or ask us at safety@lumiveil.net.

2. Who Lumiveil Is For

Lumiveil is open to anyone age 16 or older. If you are 16 or 17, we assume your parent or guardian has reviewed our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and consents to your use of the platform.

Because we welcome younger users, our content standards are strict. Content that is legal on other platforms — including sexual content, extreme violence, and explicit substance use — is not permitted here.

3. What You Cannot Post, Create, or Generate

The following are strictly prohibited across all characters, personas, chats, profiles, and any other content on Lumiveil:

3.1 Sexual Content of Any Kind

Sexually explicit text, images, or scenarios;

Nudity and sexually suggestive imagery;

Roleplay of sexual acts, including romantic scenes that cross into explicit territory;

Content designed to be sexually arousing;

Attempts to prompt or jailbreak AI characters into producing sexual content.

Romantic content — crushes, dating, kisses, emotional intimacy — is welcome and expected. Explicit sexual content is not.

3.2 Content Involving Minors

Any sexualization, romanticization, or exploitation of anyone under 18, real or fictional. This is a zero-tolerance rule with no exceptions for fiction, fantasy, "aged-up" characters, or artistic framing;

Grooming behavior of any kind, including asking minors for personal information, photos, or off-platform contact;

Characters depicting minors in situations designed to be titillating or sexual, even if not explicit.

Suspected child sexual abuse material will be reported to NCMEC and law enforcement as required by law and will result in immediate permanent account termination.

3.3 Harm, Hate, and Harassment

Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous substance use;

Threats, harassment, doxxing, or coordinated targeting of specific individuals;

Hate speech, slurs, or content that dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or any other protected characteristic;

Content that incites real-world violence;

Content celebrating tragedies, victims of crime, or acts of terrorism.

Fiction can and should explore difficult themes — grief, illness, trauma, injustice. There is a difference between exploring a topic thoughtfully and promoting harm. If you're writing about self-harm, we ask that you do so in a way that does not romanticize or instruct.

3.4 Extreme Violence and Gore

Graphic depictions of torture, dismemberment, or extreme gore;

Detailed depictions of sexual violence;

Content depicting or glorifying real-world atrocities;

Animal cruelty.

Combat, adventure, and stakes in stories are fine. Detailed torture-porn is not.

3.5 Impersonation and Real People

Characters that impersonate real, identifiable people (celebrities, streamers, politicians, private individuals) without their verifiable consent, particularly in a defamatory, sexual, or misleading manner;

Content designed to make someone believe a real person said or did something they did not;

Characters based on private individuals (classmates, ex-partners, neighbors) — never appropriate.

Historical figures long deceased can be portrayed in clearly-fictional contexts. Use good judgment.

3.6 Intellectual Property

Characters that directly copy protected characters from copyrighted works (Disney, WB, major franchises, etc.) in ways that would infringe copyright or trademark;

Content that reproduces substantial portions of copyrighted text (novel chapters, song lyrics, screenplay dialogue).

Fan-inspired original characters are welcome. Straight rips of copyrighted characters are not.

3.7 Illegal Activity

Instructions or planning for real-world illegal activity, including drug synthesis, weapon manufacturing, hacking, or fraud;

Content that facilitates human trafficking, terrorism, or organized crime;

Sale or exchange of controlled goods.

3.8 Platform Abuse

Bots, scripts, or automated interaction with the Service;

Scraping character data, user profiles, or messages;

Creating or maintaining more than one Lumiveil account per person;

Using multiple accounts to evade bans, resets, credit limits, or moderation actions;

Using prompts, jailbreaks, or persona injections designed to bypass content moderation;

Chargeback fraud on valid purchases;

Selling, buying, or transferring accounts.

4. How Moderation Works

Lumiveil uses a combination of automated moderation tools and human review by our staff. Content that trips our filters may be silently flagged, removed, or blocked from being submitted.

For content that is borderline but not clearly prohibited, we err on the side of leaving it up. For content that is clearly prohibited, we act quickly.

Consequences generally escalate:

First violation (minor): Warning and/or content removal.

Repeat or serious violation: Temporary account suspension (typically 7–30 days).

Severe or repeated violations: Permanent account termination and forfeiture of paid credits and subscriptions.

Zero-tolerance violations: Content involving minors, credible threats of violence, and coordinated attacks on other users result in immediate permanent termination on the first violation, without warning, and are reported to law enforcement where required.

We do not always notify you of every content removal, particularly for repeat offenders or automated actions. If your account is suspended or terminated, you will be notified by email.

5. How to Report Something

If you see content that violates these Guidelines, use the Report button on the character, message, or profile in question. For urgent safety concerns (threats of self-harm, threats of violence, or content involving minors), email safety@lumiveil.net directly.

When reporting, tell us:

What you saw and where (character name, username, or URL);

Which rule you believe was broken;

Any additional context that would help us investigate.

Reports are reviewed as quickly as staffing allows. Reports made in bad faith — coordinated brigading, false reports intended to harass another user — are themselves violations of these Guidelines.

6. Appeals

If your account has been suspended or terminated and you believe the action was in error, email support@lumiveil.net with your username, a description of what happened, and any context you'd like us to consider. We review appeals within 14 days.

Appeals of zero-tolerance violations (content involving minors, credible threats) are unlikely to succeed except in cases of clear mistaken identity.

7. Your Wellbeing

Lumiveil offers wellness check-in and mood-tracking features. These are for reflection and companionship — not medical care. They are not a substitute for a licensed therapist, doctor, or crisis line.

If you are in crisis:

United States: Dial or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline;

United Kingdom: Samaritans, 116 123;

International: Find your local crisis line at findahelpline.com;

Immediate danger: Call your local emergency number.

Our AI characters are not trained crisis responders. If you're struggling, please reach out to a person who can actually help.

8. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as the platform grows and as we learn what does and does not work. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Lumiveil after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
