Lumiveil is a 16+ SFW AI character platform for people who care about memory, depth, and creative writing. You can chat with characters other people have made, or create your own.
No. Free accounts get a daily allowance of Lumens (our per-message currency) and can chat, make characters, and use most of the platform. Paid tiers get more Lumens, monthly Nova credit, larger memory windows, more personas, and access to higher-quality AI models.
See the Subscriptions page for what each tier includes.
Safe for work — no explicit sexual content, no graphic violence, and no content involving minors in adult contexts. Suggestive tension in stories is fine; explicit acts are not. Full details in our Community Guidelines.
This is a deliberate choice. Adult content may be considered as a separate mode in the future, but it's not on the near-term roadmap.
Not yet. Lumiveil works in any modern mobile browser (add it to your home screen for an app-like experience). A dedicated app may come later.
You must be at least 16 to have an account. Users aged 16-17 need parental consent to use paid features, per our Terms.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If nothing's there:

Username: not self-serve yet — email support if you need one changed.
Email: also not self-serve. It requires a verified handoff we haven't fully built. Email support and we'll walk through it.
The Wellness page has a Step-Away feature. You can pause your account for 3, 7, 30, or 90 days. While paused, you won't be able to sign in or receive emails from us — the site simply won't let you back in until the timer runs out.
If you need to end a long pause early, email support@lumiveil.net. We take five business days to process early-return requests.
Go to Settings → Delete account. This removes your account, conversations, personas, and characters permanently. It cannot be undone.
Lumens are the per-message currency. Every message you send costs Lumens; the cost depends on the AI model and memory size you've chosen. Free accounts get a daily refill; you can also buy Lumen packs or earn them through streaks.
Nova is a monthly allowance included with paid subscriptions. Think of it as a per-cycle ceiling — you get it fresh each billing cycle, and it caps out at the tier's limit rather than accumulating forever.
Go to the Lumens page and paste the code into the redeem field. New users can redeem WELCOME for 50 Lumens.
Yes — anytime, from Subscriptions. Your paid tier stays active until the end of the current billing period.
No. All Lumen and subscription purchases are final. Please try the free tier first to make sure the platform fits what you're looking for.
Give it a minute — payments usually process within a few seconds but occasionally take up to a minute. If it's been longer, email support@lumiveil.net from the account email with the approximate purchase time. We'll cross-reference with Stripe and get it sorted.
Private characters that pass our automated safety scan are approved instantly and chattable right away.
Public characters go to a human review queue. We aim for under 24 hours; usually much faster. If you don't hear back in a couple of days, ping us in Discord.
Rejections include a reason. Common ones: something in the personality/greeting reads as SFW-line-crossing, the character is set up as an underage romantic interest, or the description includes prompt-injection attempts. Rework the flagged parts and resubmit — most rejections are fixable.
If you think it was rejected in error, email support@lumiveil.net with the character name and we'll take another look.
Generally yes — if the characters are your own creations. Verify the other platform's terms of service permit re-use of your work first. Do not import characters someone else made.
The default (Wisp) is a solid starting point and free. If you want more nuanced writing and depth, higher-tier models cost more Lumens per message but produce noticeably better prose. Try a few in the same conversation to see which fits your style.
Context is how much of the conversation history the AI actually reads on each message. Larger context = the AI remembers more of what happened earlier in the story. Higher tiers unlock larger context windows.
Separately, pinned memory lets you tell the AI a few key facts to always keep in mind (traits, backstory, ongoing plot points). Tier-limited.
Every message runs through automated content moderation before it reaches the AI (and the AI's reply is scanned before it reaches you). If either trips our safety rules, you'll see a placeholder and any Lumens spent on the AI reply are refunded.
If you think a legitimate message was blocked in error, use the report button on the message or email support.
No. A character is the AI you're chatting with. A persona is you in the scene — the name, appearance, and details the AI uses to address you and stay consistent with who you're playing.
The number of personas you can save depends on your tier. You can switch personas from the chat settings.
Not by us. Your chats are processed by third-party AI providers to generate responses; each of their privacy policies applies to how they handle that data. See our Privacy Policy for the category-level disclosure.
Every character detail page and every chat message has a report control. Reports go straight to our admin queue and are usually reviewed within a day.
For urgent safety concerns, email support@lumiveil.net directly.
Lumiveil is not a substitute for a person or a professional. If you're in immediate danger, please reach out to a real support line:
Our Wellness page lists more curated resources, including therapist finders and eating-disorder-specific support.
Paused: you (or someone with your account) started a Step-Away pause from the Wellness page. You'll be able to sign back in when the timer ends. If you need it lifted early, email support (five business days minimum).
Banned: an admin took action for a violation of our Guidelines or Terms. Email support@lumiveil.net for details and appeal options.
Any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — on desktop or mobile. Older browsers may render oddly. If something looks broken, try a hard refresh (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) first.
This can happen if you change your password (all devices are signed out except the one you just used), if your session naturally expired after a long time, or if there was a network hiccup. Signing back in should be all it takes.
If it's a recurring problem, tell us in Discord or email support with what browser and roughly when it happens.
We route around AI-provider outages automatically with a silent fallback ladder — if one model is down, we try others. If every option fails at once you'll see an error message and any Lumens spent are refunded.
If errors persist for you specifically, hard-refresh, then try a different model in the chat settings. Report it in Discord if it keeps happening.
